The home was lit by ageing halogen downlights that ran hot, drew far more power than needed, and had started failing one by one. The client was concerned about both the running costs and the heat the old fittings were generating in the ceiling space.They wanted a full lighting refresh that would brighten the living areas, lower their power bills, and give them control over the mood of each room. Even, glare free coverage across the open plan space was a priority.We mapped out a new downlight layout for balanced lighting, removed the existing halogen fittings, and installed dimmable LED downlights on the relevant circuits. The new fittings run cooler, use a fraction of the power, and are controlled by dimmers in the main living zones.
